UNUSUAL USE FOR EVERYDAY MATERIAL
Jan Blaauw came by today with an unusual chair from the fabulous Italian brand Eumenes. It was made out of ‘Turkish shopping bags’ material. Funnily enough, I’d just seen this unusual pattern in the Winter ’14 edition of haute couture magazine L’Officiel. There was already a ‘Turkish shopping bags’ hotel in Amsterdam in 2009 – see the Dutch article in Arcam – and I’m also a fan of a tent, made from the same plastic material, that I saw in Milan in 2011.
